Mr. Lawrence Leong Pui Lim, M.A.
I retired from working full-time since 2002 and am currently in private practice as a Professional Counsellor. I also do pro-bono as a Counsellor at Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWO). From September 2014 to December 2014, I lectured for a University Diploma course in counselling.
My counselling forte are with family and marriage relationships, pre-marriage and marriage enrichment programmes, depression, anxiety, motivation skills, children with mental disabilities, grieve and bereavement, suicide ideation, elderly care etc.
Before my retirement, for more than 35 years as an Engineer, I was involved in managing and maintaining buildings and M&E facilities covering industries in the oil refinery, dairy products manufacturing, commercial offices hub, a hotel etc.
After my retirement, I wished to repay society by helping others who are in needs. I was also greatly influenced by my wife's care and concern for others (whether friends or strangers) that I pursued a Diploma in Counselling Skills and eventually graduated with a MA in Counselling in 2013.
My leisure is spend reading widely, brisk walking, listening to music from the 70's to 90's and practising on the electronic keyboard. Meantime, I am also busy and excited joining several Coursera and Udemy courses in psychology and humanities.
I am happy and contented with a supportive wife and two boys in their late 30's. However, I still missed my 16-year old Jack Russell who had to be euthanized in 2012 because of cancer.
