Heath Stevens, Ph.D.
Expect nothing...but plan for everything.
Greetings! My name is Heath, and I've been able to earn degrees in psychology and biology (B.A.), school counseling (M.Ed.), and educational psychology (Ph.D.). I've also had the opportunity to work as a mental health therapist in the clinical setting, but my passion is really working with gifted adolescents. Consequently, I've worked at a residential summer honors program for gifted juniors and seniors in high school--after attending the program myself previously--for more than 20 years, and the high school in which I now work is the only public, residential high school for academically gifted students in the state.
I'm very excited to now be a part of the Social Psychology Network because I love learning about psychology--especially social psychology--and helping others to apply this knowledge to better themselves and the people around them. In fact, one of the critical thinking courses I've facilitated at the summer honors program is about abnormal psychology, and the other is related to applied social psychology to a variety of situations (e.g., advertising/propaganda, genocide, cults, Nazi Germany, etc.). In addition, I have also taught introductory psychology courses.
