Tenzin Choden

Hi there, my name is Tenzin Choden. I am a Tibetan, but my parents and I were born and raised in India because of the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950. Therefore, many Tibetan people, including my grandparents, fled to India and settled there. Furthermore, I received my high school degree in India and came to America for a better life and education. Since I came to America as an immigrant daughter, I decided to continue my education and improve my English; thus, I received an associate degree in Arts at City College of Chicago.
I am looking forward to achieving a bachelor's degree in social work.
In addition to my education goals, I am currently working on self-development, and I firmly believe that mental and emotional health is essential for staying physically healthy because when I took a psychology class for an associate degree, I learned that physical health plays a vital role in staying mentally healthy in psychology. Thus, I like doing yoga, reading books, and traveling to new places to enhance my mental and emotional health. I also enjoy socializing with my friends and greeting new people, which helps me create a social connection and helps me build my self-esteem. Lastly, it also helps me achieve both my educational and career goals.
