“We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.” ― Anaïs Nin

I am a veterinary nurse working in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) at a large first opinion and referral Veterinary Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. As head nurse of the ECC team I oversee the management of a large number of nursing and support staff who have a wide and varied outlook on life and requirement from their role in the team. Specialising in ECC, I also encounter clients who are experiencing great level of stress and anxiety and so being able to appreciate every situation from another's viewpoint is critical to dealing with the frequently encountered emotionally charged situations.

Whilst originally from the UK, I moved to Australia with my partner 4 years ago and love the laid back attitudes of the people and natural beauty of the landscapes that are experienced wherever you go in Australia.

My interest in social psychology stems from my natural inquisitiveness and desire to better understand and communicate with both my staff and clients. Having achieved my specialist qualification in ECC last year I am keen to progress my career and knowledge in a new directions, and psychology presents an intriguing draw!
