Andrew Lee

I can because I believe I can.

I am currently in Sales & Marketing for a food and beverage company in Malaysia. I have worked as a professional manager for the past twenty years, leading and participating in high performing teams.

Apart from my family and career, my other passions in life are in continuous learning and volunteering for good social course to help the underprivileged in my local community. What also exhilarates me is sharing my professional skills in providing training and mentoring junior college students in organisational and leadership skills in my involvement at Rotary. I love travelling and reading when I get the chance. I love out-door activities, running especially, and often times I am really envious of the great weather people enjoyed in the Western world.

There are several individuals over the years inspired me in my work career, but, two stands out as I had spend over twenty years in similar industry. They are Richard Branson and Tony Fernandes, both successful entrepreneurs in the airline industry. A modern day story of "David and Goliath". They have the "can-do" and "will-do" attitude through grit, passion, focus and determined mind-set, achieved their dreams against all odds. I also believe intelligence and social psychology skills helped them to win friends and influence people that enabled them putting a foot-in-the-door creating opportunities. The other individual is Steve Jobs. He inspired us to continue pursuing our dreams and see the opportunities even in life's setback. Sometimes life could hit us in the head like a brick. Don't lose faith. I have learned I have to love what I do so that I can produce great work. To top it all, to "stay hungry, foolish", if I want to create an impact in the local or international environment.

Though far from the successes of the people I aspire to, I hope to pick up some fundamentals in social psychology to manage myself and become better at understanding how people think about things, how I may be a positive influence to people around me and how to relate to others that I may win friends and influence people in future social and business interactions.

"I can because I believe I can".
