Dear Colleagues,
Our work group at the University of Koblenz-Landau is conducting a meta-analysis on the relationship between the use of social networking sites (such as Facebook) and academic achievement. To avoid publication bias and to counteract the file drawer problem, we are currently looking for unpublished or soon to be published data, including unpublished data from theses, conference papers, etc.
To meet our inclusion criteria the studies should include the following:
* A measure of any kind of social networking site use (e.g. frequency of Twitter use, number of Facebook friends, posts, commentaries, hours using Facebook for homework). Every SNS is suitable, including smaller ones or foreign SNS like Weibo (Chinese).
* At least one measure of academic performance (e.g., GPA, self-reported school grades, results on a performance test). We are also interested in studies that involve measures of school engagement (e.g., hours of learning at home; school engagement scales).
* There are no restrictions in study design, publication type, year of publication, age or nationality of participants
If you have conducted some relevant work in this context, or know of any unpublished work that might be relevant, we would greatly appreciate to hear about it and include it in our meta-analysis.
