Dear Colleagues,
Please join me in welcoming two new program officers to the NSF Social Psychology program – Dr. Sally Dickerson and Dr. Rosanna Guadagno. Both are serving as rotators for a limited term.
Dr. Sally Dickerson is an Associate Professor at the University of California – Irvine. Her research is in the area of stress psychology with specific interest in the effects of social evaluation on emotional and physiological outcomes. Among other credits, she has received the Sage Young Scholars Award from SPSP for exceptional individual achievements in social psychology. She can be reached at sdickers@nsf.gov, 703-292-7277.
Dr. Rosanna Guadagno comes to us from University of Alabama, where she was an Assistant Professor. Her research is in the area of social influence with a focus on persuasion via computer-mediated communication. She is also interested in gender roles and sex differences. In addition to her work in the Social Psychology program, Dr. Guadagno will also have significant responsibilities in the NSF Science of Learning Centers program. Finally, I want to send my heartfelt thank you to Dr. Charles (Chuck) Stangor for his wise and steady guidance of the Social Psychology program at NSF during the Spring review cycle. The program was without an acting director, and Chuck stepped in and expertly assumed responsibility for the peer merit review of the proposals submitted that round. By all accounts from PIs, reviewers, and panelists, he did a superb job. Thank you, Chuck!
