The Psychology Department at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, invites applications for a tenure-track position in social psychology, with a focus on affective science, to start in the Fall of 2011. We seek candidates with exceptional promise whose work is at the intersection of social psychology and emotion, broadly construed. The successful candidate will join a growing initiative in affective science within the Northeastern Psychology Department that, as of January 2011, will house the primary editorial offices for the two flagship journals in affective science: APA’s Emotion and ISRE’s Emotion Review. Applicants should have a doctorate in psychology or a related discipline, a superior publication record, and strong potential to attract external funding. In addition to establishing an independent research program, a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching is essential. The ability to teach graduate-level statistics is also desirable.
