Dear Esteemed Researchers:
We are currently preparing a systematic review and meta-analysis on the use of virtual reality technology (VR) to reduce prejudice against marginalized social groups. In order to assemble a comprehensive collection of evidence, we seek to include not only published but also unpublished research (i.e., preprints, articles under revision or in press, and all manuscripts that have disappeared into the personal file drawer).
For this purpose, we would like to kindly inquire our peers about unpublished work on the subject area in question. Specifically, we strive to include studies that:
—are experimental in nature (between, within, or mixed designs);
—make use of immersive VR hardware (e.g., head-mounted displays, CAVE applications) in at least one condition;
—present an intervention to reduce prejudice against a marginalized group (e.g., ethnic minorities, gender and sexual minorities, religious minorities, the elderly, people of lower socioeconomic class, etc.);
—and involve the measurement of prejudice (e.g., cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of attitudes; explicit and/or implicit; empathy towards the target group [not an individual]).
If you have unpublished research meeting these criteria, we would be most grateful if you could contact us on or before August 31, 2021 (email to: jan-philipp.stein@uni-wuerzburg.de).
Of course, please feel also free to contact us if you have further questions. We will make sure to adequately address any concerns that might emerge from sharing your data with us.
Thank you very much in advance for your time and consideration of our request.
Kind regards,
Dr. Jan-Philipp Stein
