Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology. Field of specialization is open. Full Professor. Eligible for tenure at time of appointment. University teaching experience.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the department chair include: recruitment and supervision of faculty and support staff, evaluation of faculty for promotion, retention and tenure, long and short range planning, management of the departmental budget, support of faculty development, promotion of excellence in teaching, coordination of efforts to recruit and retain undergraduate and graduate students representing all the diverse segments of the U.S. and international populations, promoting curricular development, promoting clear and open communication with the department, representing the department both within and beyond the university, communicating expectations of the university administration to the department, and some teaching of appropriate courses in the department.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, a current curriculum vita, transcripts of all graduate work, at least three (3) current letters of recommendation that clarify administrative experience and capabilities, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a statement of your philosophy of leadership, and copies of representative publications.
