Are you interested in participating in the upcoming one-day conference on Multiple Perspectives on Real World Helping and Social Action, jointly sponsored by Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, the European Association for Experimental Social Psychology, and Harvey Mudd College? This one-day meeting will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2006 and will serve as a pre-conference for the 2006 biennial convention of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) in Long Beach, California.
To apply for the pre-conference, or to learn more about it, go to:
http://www2.hmc.edu/~mashek/web/preconference.htm
There are a limited number of spaces available, so please apply as soon as possible. Registration closes when all slots are filled or by May 10, 2006, whichever comes first. Individuals are encouraged to stay for the general SPSSI convention, but must register separately for that event. See:
http://www.spssi.org/spssi_2006_Convention.html
Please note that the pre-conference will be highly interactive. Pre-conference participants are expected to prepare an informal presentation about their interests related to real-world helping and/or social action. There are a limited number of need-based travel stipends available for participants. However, individuals can receive only ONE travel award, either from SPSSI or for the pre-conference. More information on these travel awards and application procedures can be found on the web registration form.
