Dear Colleagues,
There has been a late surge of interest in submitting abstracts for poster presentations at the upcoming meeting of the Society for the Study of Motivation (SSM), which will be held prior to -- and in affiliation with -- the 2008 Association for Psychological Science (APS) convention. Because of this, we have decided to extend the submission deadline from April 15 to April 30.
The SSM meeting will take place on the 22nd of May. Its program will include two invited presentations, five symposia, and a poster session. Arie Kruglanski and Judith Harackiewicz will present invited talks. Symposia will cover motivation research from the following perspectives: neuroscience, personality and individual differences, self-determination theory, cognition, and application. A special round-table discussion will concern motivation and its relationships with arousal, cognition, and emotion.
Abstract submissions will be accepted online at the SSM web site:
http://www.thessm.org/conference2008.php
The web site also provides complete details for the SSM conference, including registration information, session times and topics, and presentation summaries.
We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
Rex Wright and Guido Gendolla
