Elektra Diakolambrianou

Elektra Diakolambrianou was born in Rhodes, Greece, in 1984. She obtained a degree in Psychology from Panteion University of Social and Political Studies in 2007. She continued her studies in the Institution for Counselling and Psychological Studies (obtaining a post-graduate diploma in Person-Centered Counseling from Strathclyde University) and Athenian College (obtaining a professional certificate in Drama, Art and Play Therapy from Edexcel).

She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Social Psychology at Panteion University, researching social integration and political participation as aspects of immigration from and towards Greece. Within this framework she has conducted field research in Greece, Australia and the US, and presented her work at conferences in Greece and other European countries.

She lives in Athens, working as a psychologist and mental health counselor. Her professional activities include individual, family and couples therapy, expressive arts therapy, experiential workshops, psychology and communication skills seminars, vocational guidance and creativity coaching. She is a staff member at the Institution for Counseling and Psychological Studies, and an academic associate at the Greek Music and Sound Research Centre.

She is a board member in the World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counseling.
