Davis Institution: University of South Carolina April 10, 2009, 11:40 am | | This is an invitation to review new books in social, personality, and organizational psychology for a newly established book review section of the Journal of Social Psychology. Those of us who have often reviewed for APA’s Contemporary Psychology and its online successor, PsycCRITIQUES, have noticed a significant drop off in the reviewing of books relevant to our fields. In the spirit of ensuring that more new and important work gets reviewed promptly, the Journal of Social Psychology has established a regular book review section that will be published up to bimonthly if there is sufficient interest. The purpose of this note in to invite nominations of “must review” books and of nominations, including self-nominations, for reviewers. In the case of reviewers, a brief academic CV should be attached to the nomination. Currently, I have on hand copies of the following books that could be reviewed if there are interested and qualified reviewers: Harmon-Jones, E. & Beer, J. S. (2009). Methods in Social Neuroscience. Guilford. Heine, S. J. (2008). Cultural Psychology. Norton. Knapp, M. L., & Hall, J. A. (2009). Nonverbal Communication in Human Interaction (7th ed.). Wadsworth. Victoroff, J., & Kruglanski, A. W. (2009, Eds.). Psychology of Terrorism. Psychology Press. Guidelines for reviews are available from Keith E. Davis (daviske@mailbox.sc.edu).
