Join us for the 2025 APA Animal Summit at the APA Convention in Denver, August 7-9, 2025!

My name is Nina Ekholm Fry (University of Denver, Institute for Human-Animal Connection), and along with my colleagues Grant Rich (Walden University), Harold Takooshian (Fordham University), and Scott Churchill (University of Dallas), I am co-chairing the APA Animal Summit, which has taken place annually at the APA Convention since 2017.

The APA Animal Summit highlights the impact of human interactions with animals in psychology within areas of research, practice, and teaching. The purpose of the Interdivisional APA Animal Summit poster session and networking meeting is to facilitate the exchange, application, and dissemination of scientific information about interactions between humans and animals in psychology. The APA Animal Summit and the associated Animal Network consist of individuals interested in human-animal interactions across divisions and scholarly areas.

This year's Animal Summit is bigger than ever and is supported by 10 APA Divisions! The 2025 Animal Summit is hosted by Division 6 (Society for Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative Psychology) and co-listed by Division 1 (Society for General Psychology and Interdisciplinary Inquiry), Division 7 (Developmental Psychology), Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) and Section 13 Human-Animal Interaction, Division 24 (Society for Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology), Division 25 (Behavior Analysis), Division 32 (Society for Humanistic Psychology), Division 34 (Society for Environmental, Population and Conservation Psychology), Division 43 (Society for Couple and Family Psychology), and Division 46 (Society for Media Psychology and Technology).

In addition, this year's hosting division (Division 6) has the program theme "Animals in a Changing World," so we are looking forward to animal themed symposia, workshops, and talks. Registration opens next month:

Please see the attached flyer and feel free to reach out with any questions you have. It will be wonderful to welcome many of you to Denver, Colorado, in August!

Best wishes,
Nina
