Dear Colleagues,
for a review on the functioning of symbolic threat in intergroup relations, we are in the process of compiling a database of relevant empirical studies and I kindly ask you for your support. If you have done any empirical studies (published or unpublished) that fulfil the criteria below, I would very much appreciate if you could contact us.
The study must include:
1) a measure of symbolic threat (e.g., perceived cultural differences or similarity, perceived (in)compatibility of values, perceived threat or enrichment)
2) a measure of attitude toward the source of threat (e.g., prejudice, acculturation demands, political preferences)
We would need information on (a) the items with which symbolic threat and attitude were measured, as well as reliabilities; (b) the correlation between symbolic threat and attitude; (c) the outgroup (source of threat); (d) the ingroup (participant group); (e) the type of participant group (e.g., students, crowdsourced, general public); (f) whether any other predictor, mediator, moderator, or related outcome variables were measured. Please send relevant manuscripts and/or information to Miriam Holthausen at holthaus@staff.uni-marburg.de.
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Christopher Cohrs & Miriam Holthausen
