The Department of Psychology at UCLA invites applications for an open rank position in human social neuroscience broadly defined, to begin July 1, 2015. The ideal candidate will have an innovative, productive, and highly visible research program studying the neural bases of social processes. Approaches of interest include, but are not limited to MRI, PET, EEG, TMS, and NIRS. The appointee is expected to contribute to the strength of social psychology at UCLA, but may come from another area of research (e.g. developmental neuroscience or clinical neuroscience with a focus on social processes). A Ph.D. in psychology or a related field is required. Although the position is open rank, the preferred candidate will be someone currently in the range between Postdoctoral fellow to Associate Professor. Applicants must also possess a history of excellence in mentoring and teaching and must be able to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching mission of the Department’s social psychology program.
Nominations and requests for information should be sent to the Search Chair, Dr. Matthew Lieberman (lieber@ucla.edu). Applicants should send a letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research and teaching interests, relevant publications, and the names and addresses of three references to https://recruit.apo.ucla.edu/apply/JPF00075. Or mail all materials to the Social Neuroscience Search Committee (Job #: JPF00075), Department of Psychology, Box 951563, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1563.
Review of applications will begin October 15, 2014, and will continue until a candidate is selected. We encourage applications from women, minorities, and individuals with a strong record of mentoring students from under-represented groups.
