The Department of Psychology is seeking outstanding applicants for one full-time, tenure track faculty position in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to start in the Fall of 2013 at our Blacksburg, VA Campus. We seek candidates who combine a strong quantitative focus with research in one or more areas, including: occupational health, team dynamics, diversity measurement and training, or selection and decision making. Applicants whose research demonstrates a strong potential for external funding and interdisciplinary connections within the Department and across the University are particularly appealing. The doctoral program in I-O Psychology program develops the ability to carry out problem-focused research that crosses area boundaries and that is of increasing relevance in the social and behavioral sciences. The successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous research program, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, continue development of scholarly activities and professional capabilities, and participate in department, college, and university governance. Occasional travel to attend professional conferences is required. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field, postdoctoral experience preferred, and pass a criminal background check.
