We are conducting two meta-analyses investigating the relationship between mindfulness and depression and between self-compassion and depression, and we're searching for unpublished data examining the relationship between these factors.
If you have unpublished data examining one or both relationships (self-compassion and/or mindfulness can be assessed with a self-report questionnaire or induced experimentally), we would be grateful to have you send us your data for use in the meta-analysis. It would be helpful to have the following information:
Year of the study, participant characteristics (e.g., mean age, age range, gender, sample size, male to female ratio), self-compassion measure/manipulation and/or mindfulness measure/manipulation, how depression was assessed, and correlations between the variables (or means and standard deviations if self-compassion or mindfulness was experimentally manipulated). In addition, if mindfulness was manipulated, it would be helpful to know whether participants underwent the mindfulness manipulation in groups or individually and the length of mindfulness manipulation (e.g., MBCT usually lasts 8 weeks). If self-compassion was assessed and you have data from the subscales of the self-compassion measure, that would also be helpful.
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this meta-analysis.
